Having worked on some of the most complex deals in recent years, we have developed a market-leading practice in this sector. Over the years, we have advised on over 130 development and finance of roads, bridges and tunnels. Within Europe as well as emerging markets, we have advised various clients on transactions relating to toll roads and bridges, road finance, motorways, and other complex infrastructure acquisitions.

Our dedicated infrastructure sector team is recognised as a global leader and has been at the forefront of many of the sector’s largest and complex transactions. Furthermore, Linklaters is recognised as one of the few global firms who can bring our infrastructure focus to bear through an equally strong finance practice.

We continue to draw on our extensive experience working with commercial banks, export credit agencies, international financial institutions and multi-lateral development banks to develop innovative financing solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients. In addition, we regularly act for host governments, sponsors, contractors and suppliers on their development activities. This varied client base allows us to anticipate and identify from all sides, issues that may arise during the course of a project.

Our work on the development of Ports has included full advice on all of the relevant Project documents, including advising on, drafting and negotiating contracts for offshore construction work, construction of jetties and other port facilities and contracts for dredging and land reclamation work.

We have been at the forefront of the railway sector for many years, with a dedicated global railway group specialising in the full range of railway and rolling stock transactions. As a firm, we have unrivalled strength and experience on the development and project financing of international railways projects around the world.

Regularly being on all sides of the table means that we are better able to understand and, importantly, to anticipate, issues and problems that may arise during the course of a project and find constructive and commercial solutions to them.
