Linklaters advises Allianz Direct on the acquisition of iptiQ's European Property and Casualty insurance business
Linklaters has advised Allianz Direct on the acquisition of iptiQ's European Property and Casualty (P&C) business. Allianz Direct is the pan-European online insurer of the Allianz Group. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the second or third quarter of 2025.
The seller, iptiQ, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Swiss Re. As part of the transaction, Allianz Direct will acquire the Luxembourg-based risk carrier, more than 100 employees and all B2B2C distribution agreements. The acquisition will strengthen Allianz Direct's presence in B2B2C distribution in its core European markets, including Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Italy.
Linklaters recently advised Allianz Direct on the acquisition of the FRIDAY insurance portfolio in Germany and France.
