Linklaters advises banks in connection with the issuance of €1 billion green hybrid bonds by RWE

Linklaters has advised the banking syndicate in connection with the successful issuance of €1 billion green hybrid bonds by RWE.

The bonds were issued in two series of €500 million each with a scheduled maturity date in 2055 and a first optional redemption date in 2030 and 2033, respectively. The first series initially bears interest at a rate of 4.125% p.a., the second series initially bears interest at a rate of 4.625% p.a. The net proceeds will be used to finance and refinance new and existing Green Projects in accordance with the company's Green Financing Framework.

The banking syndicate was led by NatWest and included inter alia BBVA, Goldman Sachs Bank Europe SE, HSBC, Santander Corporate and Investment Banking and Société Générale Corporate & Investment Banking.
